Bad Boys For Life * * ½

         I don't know, but I get the impression that someone wanted this to be more than the irritatingly puerile load of nonsense that it is.
        It's about a couple of cop buddies in Florida.

Bad Boys react to my review

        The original Bad Boys was over 25 years ago so these characters are no longer "Bad Boys". They are not even Bad Men. They're just silly old men.  The script can say as much as it likes about their past heroics, they still look like me and my mates.  Just a couple of old farts.  A right pair of harmless Andy Gumps.
       Recognizing this I reckon the producers should have made this for a different age group, rather than fifteen year olds.  It could have been more interesting.  I mean seeing these guys giving each other high fives singing "their song".... Bad Boys, watcha gonna do....  is not even ironic.  It's just sad.
        However aside from the excellent car chases, there is all this other stuff going on with a lake of fire for the damned and there is some kind of succubus and a prodigal son and there is imploring the heavens and trying to make a pact with God, and other kind of interesting and symbolic situations.  Evidence that someone made a bit more of an effort.  Maybe the writer wanted a different kind of film, and for that I'll give it another star.
           The final scene is a definite setup for a sequel, so I'd say there is more to come... regrettably.
