Zombieland: Double Tap * * * *
I give it four stars, but I should warn you - you really need to have seen the first Zombieland to get all the enjoyment and laughs out of this. As the first one was ten years ago you might have to dig it out to refresh your memory. I did, and it greatly enhanced the experience.
Zombieland: Double Tap pretty much continues where the first one left off. The same four characters surviving in a Zombified America, killing Zombies wherever they go.
For those that don't know, Zombieland is set in the future where a terrible virus turns people into flesh eating Zombies. If they bite you, you too will become one of them. The whole world is anarchic, buildings are in decay, roads are strewn with abandoned cars. Some folks, not bitten yet, are using their wits to survive, including our four heroes.
The romance between Columbus and Wichita has blossomed so they are now a "couple" (not that either of them have much else to choose from out there), meanwhile Wichita's little sister is going through the difficult teen age years and wants to "leave home" as no one understand her, not least being reluctant surrogate Dad, Tallahassee.
Always looking for a safe harbor they decide to move into the White-house. Plenty of security there. But no sooner are they ensconced and little sister shoots through, so they have to go after her, starting off by going to Graceland (Well, where else would you look?) By accident Columbus meets another girl - a stereotypical utterly delightful blonde bimbo ("Why is it called the Oval Office?" she asks as she is standing it). And even Tallahassee gets a love interest.
The screenplay is by the same team that gave us the wonderful Deadpool films, so you know the kind of humor you're in for. Not to mention splatter - lots of splatter. This ain't no Art Film, but boy is it fun! Get down to your local multiplex and enjoy.
