12 Strong * *

12 Strong is apparently a true story, though I very much doubt that the events shown in this film are true.

In fact, to any rational thinking person they are absolutely laughable. I would suggest that this film does more of a disservice than a tribute to its subject.
It's about a group of American operatives who worked with an Afghan tribe to help push back the Taliban.  The terrain required them to use horses.
Inadvertently the film makes more of a satire of the events than an acknowledgement of their valour.
A truer film that stuck to the facts would have been so much better, but telling a true story might require writing drama rather than exaggerated action, and might even mean a film absent of devices and ludicrous concepts - like basing the story on the charge of the light brigade, for Gods sake!
Like irresponsible journalism, like a chef pouring is mono-flavoured sauce over everything, all truth is lost and replaced by worthless bile.
