Bladerunner 2049 * * *
Errrrr ... this is a sequel to the highly regarded 1982 film ... umm... Bladerunner.
This...errr ... sequel….tells um….a similar story about….err .. thirty years after the first one.
This sequel runs for a very, very long time ….. like 164 freaking minutes! (It could have easily been told in 110 minutes).

Sneak preview: Peugeot 2049. It flies! |
The name Bladerunner refers to ...errr …. someone ...whose job it is to eliminate …..ummm ... replicants (robots) that …. errr .. don’t want to be… eliminated and have gone AWOL. The replicants look just like us humans. But we only see the errr.. Bladerunner, eliminate one errrr .... replicant.
Then he spends the rest of the... err …. film looking for one particular replicant/human hybrid…. Because a replicant gave birth thirty years ago, and a new species will generate unless he stops it …. That …. um …. in essence is ….er ... what the story is about.
He lives in a crappy flat in a crowded city and he has a virtual holographic girlfriend…. He switches her on just like music or a television… He has a demanding bitch boss and he is also being pursued …. err… by the company who made these robots in the….errrr … first place (headed up by another biatch).
The ... um .... imagined future is completely illogical when you think about … and .. err …. stupidly unlikely, but that doesn’t matter. It’s a hellishly good vision and complete to itself.

Anyway, if you think this …..err… ummm … review is plodding, slow and ponderous and takes ages and ages to say something wait till you see the …. ummmm. …. film! (Take a cushion and go wee-wees beforehand).
But it looks good, I’ll give it that. It looks fantastic! And for that, it’s worth going to see.
