The Clan * * *

Your Dad's missing? Sorry we haven't seen him. |
One of the most disturbing aspects of The Clan is that it is a True Story.
In the 1980’s The Puccios were a seemingly decent respectable Argentine family who decided that good money can be made by kidnapping people from wealthy families and holding them to ransom.
Dad does the research, then him and the boys go out, grab their prey and take them back to the basement where they are held in miserable conditions until their relatives pay up.
For some stupid reason they don’t always mask themselves when bringing food to their captives so by the time the ransom is paid the captive could easily recognise them. Only one solution to that, take the money and kill the captive.
The father is a most charming man who loves and cares deeply for his family. The boys are very successful rugby players, the daughters are teachers. Mum takes pride in running the home and putting good food on the table. The normalcy of this family would convince anyone and hold suspicion at bay.
It was when one of the boys became engaged to a young girl that things blew up. “What is that awful noise coming from the basement?” she would ask when visiting them.
Like a lot of true crime stories if it wasn’t true you’d laugh at the people in the plot for being so dumb and careless.
