French Tech * *

I think the original name is Les 2 Alfred.  I don't know why they've renamed it for release in Australia.  Perhaps the distributors think we might be frightened of foreign language or something, which is rather a peculiar way to treat an audience at a French Film Festival

A generous 2 stars for Les 2 Alfred
Anyway, no matter what they call it, it remains a bad film: untidy, not funny (even though it insists it is), not even remotely believable.

An older unemployed man gets a job with a  Tech Company.

It pokes fun at IT with their new standards and values and appraisal of what makes a good employee.  He doesn't meet their standards because he has children, which the company strongly discourages.

After a while, and the introduction of a last minute character, we find  lots of people in the organization are harboring a secret and we have a "tell all " moment which I think is supposed to be teary, but as all the characters are such stereotypes and cardboard cutouts I wasn't exactly moved.

I don't know what they were thinking when the cobbled this rubbish together, but with drone delivery services and driverless cars I get the impression that it was originally to be set in a soulless heartless future ( which might make it work), but as it is, it is set today - and it doesn't work, at least not for me.
