Wrath of Man * * ½

After Guy Ritchie's triumphant return to form with The Gentlemen, I was hoping this would be more of the same.  Not so.

Although it stars one of England's best - Jason Stratham - it is set in America, where they have an admirable, but different sense of humour,; So there is none of the quips and smarty pant comments from colourful lads from the East End.

"H" invites me to rewrite this review

Plus the plot is as confusing as all hell. The only certain thing is the main character is up to something and is quite resolute in his intent.  What his motivation is doesn't become clear till half way through and this is revealed to us by shifting time with slides telling us - "Six Months Earlier", "Three Weeks Later", "Two Months Before That" etc.  To me it would have made a  lot more sense if it had just gone in straight chronological order.

What it's about is an Englishman called "H" (Stratham) who gets a job for one of those self-important cash van companies.  He rides in the cabin to deter any robbers of which we soon learn there are quite a few, but of course they haven't come up against the likes of  "H" before.  Bang Bang, you're dead.

Then there is all this other stuff going on in the before and after. I could see what he was really after and I could understand his determination, but as for the rest I found it dull, humorless and unsatisfying, not to mention somewhat confusing.
