Pixie * * * *

I don't think there are any cops on the west coast of Ireland.  Just drug runners, thieves, gangsters, racketeers and priests with machine guns.

Pixie, a lovely Irish lass who comes
with a bag of drugs and a gun
In this hilarious jaunt we see just about every kind of crime committed, a trail of bodies, abandoned cars, and not one cop ever turns up! Totally unrealistic, but who cares?

A couple of blokes are employed to interfere with a major drug/cash exchange deal which is going down.  As they jauntily chat afterward we learn that one is the ex lover of a the boss's daughter, Pixie and one is the secret current lover of Pixie.  Then things go decidedly wrong.

Meanwhile Pixie is waiting at the airport for the current lover to arrive with the goods, so they can take off and start a new life.  However, as things have gone wrong, no one shows up, so Pixie has to abandon her plan and go back to town.

In the meantime we are introduced to another couple of lads at a pub/ nightclub who see Pixie and agree she is the prettiest girl in Ireland (she probably is).  They also hear she takes "artistic" photos featuring herself and a companion in action, so they visit her at two in the morning full of beer and wishful thinking.

Then Pixies mentally unbalanced ex-lover turns up.

From there we get to know Pixies Dad, her revolting sleazy step brother and a bunch of "priests" who are a part time gangsters hunting for their stolen goods.

Pixie's Dad is not too happy with the way things went with the blokes he hired, so he changes gear and hires Seamus, who is utterly psychopathic and not someone you'd want to mess with.

In the meantime Pixie has no choice but to go on the run with the lads from the pub with a bag full of drugs and a body in the boot of the car.    Thus a bit of a road trip begins that sees the three of them bonded.

It's a story full of twists and turns, hilarious scenes and very little morality.  And it looks gorgeous.  So, if you're not amused by the disgraceful behavior of all the characters, it's probably worth going to see for the sheer beauty of  Irelands west coast.
