Charlies Angels * * ½

       Why?!
Originating from a fifty year old TV series, the damn thing was made into a movie twenty years ago and then a sequel, so why on earth would anyone want to do it again?
The Angels prepare to kick my arse!
I don't know, but the fifty young girls in the cinema all seemed to be okay with it.  But then again, they were mere babes when the 2000 film came out, and as for the original TV Series we're talking about a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth....
But here we are....reinventing, sampling, revitalising, modernising, or whatever term they use for not getting off your arse and thinking up something new.
The dialogue is so clunky and contrived it is painful, but maybe it's just paying homage to it's origin.
I won't go into the plot because it's kind of irrelevant.  Basically it's about three very pretty young women who have to stop bad things that dastardly evil men have done or plan to do.   To do this they kick arse, travel the world, wear hot clothes, flirt with boys for advantage but never let them get near them, kick a lot more arse, and snap out a lot of cutesie-pie and smarty-pants dialogue.
But every film deserves an audience and every audience deserves a film, I guess.
