Creed ll * * *
This is a simpler and dumber story than the previous Creed. Also the fight scenes aren't as convincing, which didn't bother me greatly as the whole thing was so comic book it kind of fitted in.
The lost and found formula is used to full effect here. Creed want's to take on a super-tough guy - the son of the boxer that killed his father.
Coach Rocky (Sly Stallone) says "No". They break up. Creed takes on tough Russian guy anyway and gets walloped.
Creed want's a re-match.
Rocky and Creed team up again. Creed gets back into the ring with tough Russian guy.
Also Creed becomes a Daddy and weirdly seems disappointed because the baby is rather like his wife.
Having moved on to bigger things bankable director Ryan Coogler handed the reins to relative newcomer Steven Caple who seems to have stepped up to the plate and delivered a film that comfortably hits the market it was aiming for. Multiplex, popcorn, fun afternoon or evening at the movies watching a forgettable film.
