Deadpool & Wolverine * * * ½

Deadpool and Wolverine getting along just fine.

Years ago I saw the first Deadpool which I thought was hilarious. I must admit there were more than a few "in" jokes I probably didn't get, but overall it was a lot of fun as it mocked the whole Marvel Comic Superhero thing.  

The second (Deadpool 2) was no less funny. (It featured a boy in need of rescuing).  It still lampooned itself but, at the same time, it played into the Superhero world a little more. 

Now we have the third which literally immerses itself in the whole Superhero Marvel Comic Universe.  Fortunately it still spends most of the time giving it no respect and sending up the whole thing. But the plot remains dependant upon it. 

There are so many "explanations" about multi universes, time lines and weird characters I found it near incomprehensible.  But if you're into that kind of thing you'll probably have a ball.

What I did figure out is that Deadpool has to save his universe and he's going to need to find a place in time where he can bring Wolverine back from the dead. After finally connecting they smack each other up and then they go on a rampage smacking everyone else who gets in their way.   

Meanwhile Wolverine can't get over his cynicism and he likes to hit the bottle a lot.

There is a bad man with a suit and an English accent (of course) tying to thwart everything. 

Despite my lack of comprehension I found it very funny (there are some great lines) and the special effects - which the main characters mock - I found those very impressive too. 

So there you go, you'll probably enjoy it even if you can't figure it out.
