See How They Run * * * ½

If, like me, you've seen the trailer for this, you've probably been keen to see the full thing.  I have to warn you, those funny quirky, endearing lines delivered by Saoirse Ronan as Constable Stalker are the icing on the cake - most of the icing.  There aren't too many more beyond what's in the trailer.

Is there anything else you have to say?
Set in London in the early fifties, a murder is committed backstage at a play - the infamous Mouse Trap to be exact. The police are called and we are introduced to Constable Stalker and Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell).

Pretty good motivation is given to every suspect to commit a murderer.  Trouble is brewing in regard to the production, with an American Production Firm who want to turn it into a feature film.  Not everyone is happy with the changes the film director wants to make  - lo and behold, he is the one that gets knocked off.

It's a lot of fun with some very contrived quirky characters full of English eccentricity, but it doesn't quite dish up the amount of laughs I was hoping for. But there are some good times to be had watching this fun murder-mystery - and then there is the gorgeous period re-creation, almost worth the price of admission alone.
