BookSmart * * 1/2

So, not everyone thinks we're smart.
Everyone is giving this one a thumbs-up.  I don't know why.  I mean it's alright as a teen graduation/ coming of age film but it pales compared to some of the other film in a similar vein.  To be honest there were times when found it quite boring.
A couple of goody-goody girls who are in their final of high school come to the realistation that all they've done is work and never messed up or played up, so they decide to compensate for it in one night. Not the most original of plots.
The combination of rapid dialogue and mumbling didn't help either.  Half the time I was wishing for subtitles.
All the stereotypes are there - the jock, the prom-queen hot girl, the nerdy girl who is actually hot, the whacky school Principal.  You know how it goes. Then there's a dose of dealing with being gay mixed in. It also can't seem to make up it's mind whether it want's to be a champion for gayness or if it's happy to be just another teen gross-out movie. It's not very good at being either.
I don't know, the whole thing just struck me as unnecessary, and compared to many other teen-age films of late, I felt it didn't really have much to say.
