The Interview * * 1/2

Damned if I know what the North Koreans got pissy about. All this film does is totally humiliate Kim Jong Un and hold him up for public ridicule and then burn him alive.  What's wrong with that?!  It was good fun and in the end no real harm done.  In fact that is the main problem with “The Interview” - no real harm done.

It’s common knowledge now that this is the film that cinemas wouldn't touch because they feared bombing reprisals etc.  Seth Rogen and James Franco made this hi-jinx drama of a television news interviewer who lacks credibility and suddenly scores an interview with Kim Jong Un from North Korea.  Seizing the opportunity the CIA suggest he might like to do a bit of assassination whilst he's at it, a task at which he demonstrates the same level of competence as his interview skills.  It’s a bit of a giggle but not worthy of its notoriety.  But then, neither is Kim Jong Un.
