Crazy Rich Asians * *

I got no FOMO about this party!

          I couldn't believe how vacuous this film was. I was so bored I was literally writhing in my seat in the last 30 minutes just thinking "Finish, finish, finish, please finish".   "Let's just get to the airport" I thought to myself - and I was right! For indeed there was a "rush to the airport" scene. Gee not many films end like that do they?
          But the airport  scene was as formulated as just about every other scene and character in this plodding, tick the boxes, film.
        In the main, the characters are vain, rude, avaricious and hideously condescending, which is fine if it was funny, but it isn't much. The only difference is they were all Asian. It's set in Singapore with nearly every iconic building and space in that city used in the background.
          The success and popularity of this film, populated by unattractive, self obsessed caricature characters, is beyond me.
