Fifty Shades Darker * *

Last year I reviewed Fifty Shades Of Grey and mentioned I hadn’t read the book the film was based on. I haven’t read the sequel either, Fifty Shades Darker, on which this film is based. But  I did read a little bit about EL James since.  She seems really nice: Funny, modest, and hugely surprised at the success of this nonsense. But I’m afraid that doesn’t make the film any more endurable.
Why can't you punish me like Flip?
To be honest I don’t mind a bit of rubbish.  I actually like some films which are generally considered really bad (Showgirls, Basic Instinct ll for instance).  But I’m afraid I don’t like this. Primarily for the same reason I didn’t like Fifty Shades of  Grey.  The lead Character Christian Grey is so horrible!
The notorious sexual antics are really quite restrained (both in concept and in enactment) compared to a lot of what is shown in films today.
There was a glimmer of  hope with the introduction of a  couple of interesting psychotic characters out to cause trouble, but mostly it is pretty much the same as the last one (which is just what fans of this story want I suppose).
