The Office Christmas Party * * 1/2

If there is a cinematic equivalent to Christmas tinsel I guess this would be it.
Just let 'em sleep...... please!
Distracting, shiny, worthless, and straight into the bin as soon as the season is over.  In this case hopefully never to be recovered with Office Party 2 or suchlike.
A chap and his sister inherited an IT company from Dad. He runs the Chicago operation.  But Scrooge Sister doesn’t think he is making enough dough so she decides to shut it down and there will be no Christmas Office Party.
Brother and coworker/friend figure they can land a big contract and save the day.  So they decide to throw the Office party anyway and invite the prospective client they need to show him what a great bunch of people they are.
Meanwhile we get to know all the nerds, nasties, sweeties, maddies in the office. They all put on a predictable performance with drugs, hookers etc (all the makings of a good party actually. I’d like to have been there). But as a film it’s predictable dumb and tedious to watch after a while. A wearisome formulaic film including the happy outcome.  Basically it’s just watching a whole bunch of people get smashed.
As they say, “You had to be there”. I wasn’t, so Office Christmas Party doesn’t get much of a rating from me.
